INSPIRATION
‘NEO PRAGNANZ’ created based on Gestalt theory
*Our simplicity created based on Gestalt theory
Maximilian Wertheimer, 1880.04.15 - 1943.10.12
Maximilian Wertheimer, a German psychologist, received a certain inspiration from the fact that he could still see the outside of the train he was on despite the fact that the opaque wall and window frames were partially blocking his vision.
NEO PRAGNANZ, CROWN GOOSE, 2019
This artwork is a space art, exploring the human visual instinct to accept all visual stimuli uncritically and recognizing sensual information after reforming them as consistent images.
The space recreated using lines expresses a new ‘simplicity’. The background of the surrounding space creates a shift with the foreground, creating a new Gestalt in the process.
The Crown Goose Art Foundation interpreted the cognition process with a focus on the internal human process.
By concentrating on the relationship between the foreground, which is the focus of attention, and the background surrounding the foreground, thus reminding that the whole is not simply a sum of the parts but more.
