Crown Goose and Nabi Art Center held in 2018 Nabi Artist Residency exhibition with four international artists.
Crown Goose Presents Nabi Residency Exhibition Nabi Artist Residency is an international artist interaction program, where rising media artists with diverse cultural backgrounds meet and explore the artistic and technological possibilities.
Crown Goose participated as the official sponsor of the event and supported the artists and their works.
The global artists were to use Crown Goose products over the period of their art activities. Our Jardin Collection and La Dore Collection imbued novel inspiration into the young artists by providing them with quality sleep.
Art Meets Blockchain Technology
At this event, we discussed the meaning of value along with the new artworks of four young media artists.
Since its initiation three years ago, Nabi Artist Residency program has constantly discovered young media artists and explored various artistic possibilities of diverse genres.
<Face Trade> by Matthias Dörfelt, 2018
Face Trade is an artwork vending machine, printing out and selling artworks produced in the form of a human’s face. It makes us contemplate upon the meaning of the relationship between humans and machines by turning the act of trade into trading of face-artworks. Matthias Dörfelt explores the relationship between humans and machines through his interaction with machinery.
He presented Face Trade, the interactive installation work, from which the audience received a computer-produced artwork by paying with their personal information. With his work, he questioned the modern method of trade of values and the reproductivity of artworks.
< (Groove) Body > by Amay Kataria, 2018
(Groove) Body is a virtual identity that is produced from blockchain technology and enables partial ownership of the identity of artworks.
Amay Kataria, once an engineer and now a global artist, is currently a member of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He explores the essence of technological systems from kinetic art to blockchain art, by intersecting technology with modern art mediums for self-expression.
<Beach Umbrella> by Sjored ter Borg, 2018
Beach Umbrella is an image work, which shows the process of classifying the city of Seoul, utilizing the archive of street views from a global corporate.
This work unravels the past, present, and future of a city in the perspective of a machine through applying technology to an ordinary entity.
Sjored ter Borg’s primary study is the vicissitudes and changes of cities through the lapse of time.
He produced Beach Umbrella in his homage to characteristics of disappearing cities.
The power to make change derives from timelessness.
