Please briefly introduce Grand Hilton.
Grand Hilton boasts itself of fresh air and luxurious scenery that is rarely found in urban hotels. We provide services customized to customers through diverse seasonal rooms and food & drinks promotions and operate free shuttle buses stopping at various tourist attractions. We possess the largest convention center into the local region and have an above-ground and underground parking lot able to take up to 1,000 cars.
Who are the main customers of Grand Hilton?
Our hotel is visited by customers of various ages, from 30 to 60.
In particular, recently there has been a noticeable increase in family customers in their 30s and 40s coming with their children. Last summer, we were praised for various promotions targeted at our kids customers, such as ‘Kids’ Summer Glamping Package’ where they can enjoy glamping in their rooms, to ‘Kid’s Lounge’ where they can freely run and play and the ‘Summer Forest Photo Zone,’ where safari animals are gathered in one place.
To be called an ‘urban haven within the city,’ there must be a unique concept and philosophy differentiating Grand Hilton from other hotels. What are the unique concept and service philosophy that can only be felt at Grand Hilton?
With a clear view overlooking the local mountains, it more difficult to find locations with a better view than our hotel. We present a charm that cannot be felt within a city. Compared to other 5-star hotels, we boast ourselves of larger rooms, and we provide a fresh stay environment where you can feel the outer air from indoors through the windows in the hotel.
Rather than providing monotonous room designs, we designed each room uniquely, so that you can have a new experience every time. At places like the restaurant and swimming pool, we actively use lighting so that you can rest while fully enjoying nature. One of our hotel’s charm is that you can directly feel the charms of the four seasons.
Another healing point is that you can conveniently visit hot tourism places within 10 minutes by taking the shuttle.
You received the ‘Best Brand Award’ in the hotel convention category from authoritative media. What makes the Grand Hilton Convention Center stand out?
The Grand Hilton Convention Center is the only convention center that is an independent building with a hotel, sized at 4 stories above ground and 3 stories underground and possessing a large convention hall capable of accommodating up to 2,500 people.
People can conveniently move from hotel rooms to meeting halls through a passage connected with the hotel, being a unique business space with space and system to host large convention events. There are variously sized seminar rooms and banquet halls, serving the role as the best business platform for various events.
The concept of the hotel is moving from that of lodging and rest to that of a multiplex. Is Grand Hilton following this trend and transforming into a multiplex with galleries, libraries, and kids’ lounges?
As there has been an increase in people who think of ‘staycation’ when they hear ‘hotel’, the purpose of customers visiting hotels has become more diverse. They do not expect an entertainment space that goes beyond space for rest and satisfies the leisure and cultural needs. In line with such customer needs, our hotel is also trying various ideas to transform into a lifestyle platform.
We are working to provide our customers with new fun and memories by transforming previously unused spaces into new cultural spaces or experience spaces, such as the smart art gallery <The H-Gallery> created in collaboration with Samsung Electronics, the <E-Book Zone> prepared into the lobby for customers’ convenience, and the <Kids’ Lounge> created in brand collaboration with Designskin.
What do you consider most important when selecting bedding materials for a deluxe hotel?
We consider the quality provided to customers as the foremost attribute.
We try on and discuss the products to make sure that they snugly cover the body for a comfortable sleep and that they have a soft texture.
We are curious about how you began planning the Crown Goose Special Suite Package.
We planned this package so that you can experience a movie-like ‘Christmas’.
In order to present a perfect Christmas, we prepared various settings to enliven the feeling of Christmas, a cake for a small party for two, Christmas special wine, as well as a surprise gift.
The most important of all was the comfortable bedding to provide a perfect rest.
Because Crown Goose uses premium fabrics and the highest-quality Polish goose down, we considered it as a brand most suited to provide customers with luxury in daily life.
Polish goose down has a rich history of over 100 years and prides itself on the highest quality, so we judged that it will be able to provide our customers with a cozy time as if lying on a cloud.

We selected the ‘Cordon Collection (Navy)’ because we felt that it can perfectly express the charms of Grand Hilton, aspiring for comfortable premium.
Do you have a tip for us to perfectly enjoy Grand Hilton?
At Grand Hilton, you can fully feel the charms of the four seasons. You can enjoy a new feeling at Grand Hilton Seoul when it is sunny, raining, snowing, blooming with cherry blossoms, or when maple leaves are falling. What kind of company of creative group Urban Nomad?
Urban Nomad Design Studio is a creative organization planning cultural contents across food, clothing, and shelter that we want to sympathize and share, thus proposing a better lifestyle. We promote appealing life values through challenging and creative collaborations with customers and partners in various fields.
We are curious about the interior of the global company’s penthouse.
Please describe the living and dining space.
In line with the client’s preference for the natural feeling of hardwood, we put a lot of effort in finding high quality hardwood. The dining table was made by acquiring North American walnut, the highest quality wood having gone through years of drying so that there is no distortion over time, transformed into an even more dignified dining table through the detailed work of the master wood craftsman with the hands of a god. The reddish tint characteristic of American walnut may look a bit old, so we revised the surface tone with the minimal amount of work so that it blends in harmoniously with the interior finish of the internal space.
Among those, the unique but simple table legs have caught our eyes. How were they created?
The table legs, intended to support the large-sized hardwood top, used metallic materials to support the weight stable, while in a simple form so as to not appear crude or interfere with the chairs.
We mixed and matched different finishing materials of the latest trends, creating a satisfactory table with a harmony between the natural feel of hardwood and the sophisticated and smooth feel of the golden metal.
We want to know about the furniture placed in the calm living room, appropriate for the dignity of the penthouse.
For the living room furniture, we placed a leather sofa of the main color of natural warm-gray tone, accented with a refreshing but unobtrusive light camel-colored single-person armchair.
The sofa table was created as a two-layered circular table so that it can be layered depending on the use, and senses were added with a marble finish of unique patterns.
Because it is a living space for external customers and employees, there must have been many things to pay close attention to. Please describe what you were concerned with the most.
The master bedroom for VIP guests has the bedroom and living room separated so that it is cozy but protective of privacy, where a slim single-person armchair and table were placed in consideration of the compact space. It may be difficult to work to style a space targeted at an uncertain number of people because satisfaction depends on personal preferences.
But we were able to successfully complete this project by doing our best in the belief that high quality and complete details are always right.
The curtains blending in with the mood of each space of the penthouse are impressive.
Please describe in detail the curtains placed differently for each space.
Because the living room is a special place giving the first impression, we applied an accent curtain that is calm but not monotonous. A unique point with volume and rhythm was created by interconnecting broadly cut doubly weaved fabric of toned-down brownish colors. In the master bedroom, where floor materials of natural-tone oak-patterned wood and herringbone, a soft blue-tone embroidery-patterned curtain was applied for a refined classical feeling.
The guest bedroom, where diverse visitors will stay, was designed with monochrome gray two-tone curtain and modern bedding accented with silver lines, to give the feeling of a cozy but tidy hotel room.
Is there a special reason you have chosen Crown Goose for the bedroom bedding?
To sleep comfortably, it’s important what kind of materials the bedding is made of. So we chose products from Crown Goose, whose products are loved by many people for their recent luxurious hotel-like goose down bedding. We thought goose down bedding would all be similar, but after actually feeling them with our hands, we discovered that the soft texture of the 100% pure cotton is indeed different. We found out the reason it is loved by so many celebrities and customers.
We applied a modern design to the bedding, with simple line accents and a white cover.
Lastly, please tell us how you feel about this work.
We shared our knowledge in space styling through our collaboration with premium brands, and it was a pleasure to work to add more elegant style to Penthouse.

Please briefly introduce Null Stern Hotel.
Null Stern is the only hotel in the world located in the middle of the Alps (1970m above sea level).
The biggest characteristic of Null Stern Hotel is that there are no walls, roofs, or bathrooms and that all there is are one queen-sized bed, a pair of tables, and a lamp.
We heard that ‘Null Stern’ of Null Stern Hotel has a special meaning. Could you elaborate?
‘Null Stern’ means ‘zero stars’ in German. It means that ‘Our star is not the hotel but our customer, so we have removed the walls and left you and your experience.’ That’s why our slogan is ‘The only star is you.’
What was the motivation behind coming up with the idea for Null Stern Hotel?
It was 2008 when we first came up with the idea for Null Stern Hotel. We conceived of the idea at the ‘nuclear bunker’ located in the town of Seblen in Switzerland. As artists, we have always aspired for art within daily life. We plan the artistic integration at unexpected places, away from art business spaces like galleries or museums. And the result of further progressing this idea is Null Stern Hotel.
What is the biggest charm unique to Null Stern Hotel that differentiates it from other hotels?
The secret behind Null Stern Hotel’s popularity is that it is perfectly suited to enjoy an unobstructed view because there is no wall or ceiling. Isn’t is very appealing, to be able to fully see and feel the beautiful scenery of Switzerland? Null Stern is meaningful in that it is not a hotel with less service and cheaper price, but that it redefines the meaning of luxury. This is a new category incomparable to any other existing 5-, 6-, or 7-star hotels.
What was the reaction like when Null Stern Hotel, the only hotel in the world without any walls or roof, was introduced to the world?
I still can’t forget the moment Null Stern Hotel was introduced to the world for the first time. We operated the Null Stern project we personally planned as 24-hour installation art and unveiled it to the media, and it was scintillating as if a little bomb had exploded. In just 4-5 hours, the message of the ‘first zero-stars hotel in the world’ spread throughout the world; I can say that it was the best moment in my life.
We’re aware that two artists designed the hotel and one hotel expert manages it as partners. Is there any special reason for working together?
Daniel Charbonnier used to work at Four Seasons Hotel Beverly Hills and came to us personally after seeing us in the media. I still can’t forget that moment. He came to us recognizing our possibility. He told us that ‘zero stars hotel is the future of the hotel industry,’ and from that moment on, we further advanced the concept of the zero stars hotel as partners. That is how our very own special hotel, ‘Null Stern Hotel,’ was born.
What is the most precious thing you gained while planning Null Stern Hotel?
We think that by personally planning and creating Null Stern Hotel, we gained a very special experience unattainable anywhere else in the world. The reason is that Null Stern Hotel was created purely from our very own imagination. We are happy that it was materialized in reality.
How do customers use Null Stern Hotel?
Null Stern Hotel is operated only under reservation, from spring to late autumn. If the weather is not good on a particular day, the reservation can be canceled. As our slogan is ‘The only star is you,’ we consider customers’ active participation as very important, and our ultimate goal is to present customers of Null Stern Hotel with the best view of the Alps so that they can enjoy the artistic values that we pursue.
What are the values Null Stern Hotel is pursuing?
We pursue the value of freedom, and our goal is to create a hotel that is centered around the customer. We will present our visitors with a new kind of freedom, creating a space and art that can become a new experience just by visiting.

I would recommend seeing local underground cities, taking a hot air balloon ride, eating at our restaurant, Seten, for authentic Turkish cuisine, visiting the Open Air Museum which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, visiting a local winery for a tasting and doing some hiking through the valleys all within walking distance to the hotel.
What was important about having goose down bedding in your property?
It is a worldwide luxury item. With our cave rooms, it would seem the best choice.

Fabric material quality, quality of down, no use of harsh chemicals.

It is extremely soft and cool to begin with. Light, but warm.
Do you feel the difference between Crown Goose Kageyama Sateen Fabric from normal cotton fabric? If yes, please elaborate.
Yes I did feel the difference. I was able to experience the product in hot and chilly weather. Unlike my cotton duvets, I found your product kept the heat a little too much. I prefer the consistent coolness of high thread count cotton.
What does good night's sleep mean to you?
It is all about bedding. Even when I go camping, I take my best bedding, which includes my cotton goose duvets.
