‘BORNE ALOFT’ is an art bedding piece by CROWN GOOSE that captures the moment of being lifted by light and wind, carried by invisible currents into a celestial realm. Like the meditative movement of an ‘Omnibus,’ the work visualizes the open air and translucent light unfolding beneath the sky through the organic movement of fabric. Though suspended in a seemingly still scene, the elevated textile carries a primordial rhythm across its surface, while a sense of tension lingers throughout the space, as if everything could shift at any moment. As the viewer’s perspective moves, the work reveals different expressions. The positive space touched by light and the negative space held by shadow exist through one another, creating a new sculptural landscape between the filled surface of the fabric and the surrounding void. Substance and absence, the visible and the invisible, are not separated within the work, but continually exchange places.
This sculptural tension resonates with the concept of Sympoiesis, in which forms emerge through an ongoing relationship with their surrounding environment. The weight of the fabric and the technical structure that lifts it, the image of wind drawn from nature and the refined mechanism constructed by human hands, do not stand in opposition. Each element leans upon the other to create balance, harmoniously revealing the necessity of human technology within an organic, primordial order. The delicate interactions that shape the work emphasize both the possibility and fragility of a new world in which beings coexist through interdependence and rise together. Through ‘BORNE ALOFT,’ CROWN GOOSE presents flight not as an escape achieved alone, but as a shared journey in which different forces enter into relation and move together.
